Privacy policy

Local files are converted on your device. We collect the account and job information needed to operate the service.

Who operates this service

AV Primer is operated by Israel Polatchek in New York, United States. Contact support@avprimer.com for privacy, account, or data requests.

Files and download links

Files you select for conversion stay in your browser; we do not upload them to a media server. Results are temporary in the tab until you save them. For a link download, the source URL, request metadata, and media pass through our relay to your browser. We do not offer cloud file storage. Source services receive relay requests and may log them under their own policies.

Information we process

  • Clerk manages account identifiers, verified email addresses, authentication, and optional sign-in providers.
  • Job records include account or device identifiers, a hashed network address when available, the supplied filename or URL, format and quality settings, timestamps, status, and relay byte totals. Download URLs may contain query parameters; do not submit private or secret links.
  • When subscriptions are available, Clerk manages plan and subscription records; Stripe processes payment details. AV Primer does not receive full card numbers.
  • Hosting, security, and service providers may process IP addresses, browser details, request logs, and errors to deliver and protect the service. Support email is handled by Cloudflare forwarding and our Gmail inbox.

Cookies and external resources

A signed, HttpOnly device cookie lasts up to one year and helps enforce free allowances. Clerk uses authentication cookies and related browser storage. We use no advertising cookies and do not sell personal information. Browser engines and dependencies load from jsDelivr, which receives ordinary connection information. Clearing cookies signs you out or changes device attribution, but does not erase server records.

Why we use information

We use it to authenticate users, authorize premium features, enforce allowances, prevent abuse, process billing, show recent activity, respond to support, and meet applicable obligations. We share information with service providers for these purposes and when legally required. Providers may process it in the United States and other countries.

Retention and your choices

Media results remain in the tab until discarded or the tab closes; saved files are controlled by you. Job metadata remains in our database until removed; the activity view shows only the latest 20 entries and is not a retention limit. Account and billing providers retain records under their policies and legal obligations. Email us to request access, correction, or deletion. We may verify ownership and retain records needed for fraud prevention, disputes, or legal compliance. Deleting an account is separate from cancelling a subscription; cancel first in Billing.

Children and security

This service is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18. Do not submit children's personal information. We use HTTPS, verified sessions, and server authorization; no service can guarantee absolute security.
